The Problem
In
today's tight labor market, managers who consistently attract and
retain good employees give their company a significant economic advantage.
This is especially true given the fact that the total cost of replacing
mid-to-upper level
executives or highly skilled employees can equal as
much as one to two times the employees’ annual salary!
High tech companies
in particular can position themselves to doubly benefit from
current market dynamics because:
The SolutionThe Consulting Group of HRC offers a service especially crafted to enhance the value of managerial and executive resources in high-tech businesses. We can provide executives and managers with the specific skills required to lead today’s high tech work force and watch the bottom line grow. Our program typically begins with a standard self-administered inventory (The Leadership Practices Inventory or LPI) to assess the manager's behavior in key practice areas that characterize exemplary leadership. The LPI is simple to use and highly flexible, allowing it to be used either as an individual or a 360 Degree assessment tool. Furthermore, there is a good deal of research on LPI from thousands of people showing that the more frequently a manager uses the skills measured by the LPI, the more likely it is that he or she will be seen by subordinates, peers, and superiors as an effective leader. The Outcome Following the confidential assessment and feedback process, the leader may be assigned an experienced personal executive coach to work on under-developed or under-utilized skills that have been identified and then make realistic plans for change. Each program of this type is customized to the needs and circumstances of the individual and the client organization. There is no standard package or fee. An added feature of such programs is that much of the coaching can be done by phone which reduces costs, saves, time, provides easy access to the coach on an as-needed basis, and enhances accountability. Our program can help turn average performers into adept managers of people.
