Betsi Koszalka, MBA, PhD Dr. Koszalka received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of North Carolina in 1976 and her Masters of Business Administration from the Kenan Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina in 1997. She is the former Chair of the Board for Human Resource Consultants and continues to be a member of the management team for the practice. She is currently a member of the Division of Consulting Psychology; a Division of the American Psychological Association committed to the application of behavioral science knowledge and principles in organizations of all types. Her work with organizations includes change management and the development of high performance teams. In early stage companies she has provided leadership development and coaching and support for rapid integration of newly formed leadership teams. She has also planned and facilitated team development with work groups from area companies and organizations. In addition, she has facilitated retreats and meetings to build cohesion and consensus through the clarification of vision, mission and values. Specializing in customized solutions for change, she helped to develop an instrument for employees to provide feedback to supervisors. She provided analysis and discussion of the feedback to individual team leaders and supervisors in order to support their career development and their acquisition of leadership skills as their agency changed to a team based format. Through the Employee Assistance programs offered by HRC, she provides individual counseling for managers and new supervisors to assist in the analysis and resolution of supervisory and work group conflicts and problems. Her consultation is focused on a systemic view of organizational and team dynamics and on the building of skills in team members for self-assessment and self-awareness to enhance interpersonal effectiveness. |
